Review - Rapid Formatter.  Software that Turns a WordPress Blog into a Website

Ok, this is a tough review for me to write because my opinion of this product has changed so much over time.  When I first purchased Rapid Formatter I couldn’t stand it.  It was tough to install and I just couldn’t get it to work.  I never would have stuck with it unless I believed that this product would make my life so much easier - if I could just figure how to get it to work.

I had heard that the search engines love blogs but I never liked the look of them.  Nor did I like the fact that you couldn’t keep your home page static.  It always displayed your most recent post.  This is annoying from a marketing point of view and not good at all if you want the search engines to rank your site based on specific keywords.

On the other hand, blogs are extremely easy to update and updates can be done from anywhere.  This was appealing to me for two reasons.  One, I travel a lot and carting a laptop around isn’t always feasible.  Two, and more importantly, I create a lot of websites for friends and clients and I wanted them to be able to update their sites whenever they wanted and not have to rely on me to do it for them.  If you can type an email you can update a blog.

So I was pretty excited when I bought Rapid Formatter.  I think I’m pretty immune to sales letters but this one was good.  I actually printed it out and read it a bunch of times before I purchased the product.  If I was able to do even half of what was promised I’d be happy.

After a few false starts and a lot of frustration getting it installed, I am happy to say that this product totally lives up to its promises.  The installation was not easy but the creator of the software, Jeff, who must be one of the smartest and most patient dudes I’ve ever met actually ended up installing it for me.  I should mention that the cause of most of my frustration was not the fault of the software but due to the fact that my hosting company was using an older version of WordPress that was not compatible with Rapid Formatter.

There was definitely a learning curve involved but after that, it is pretty easy to use.  I built this site (Nomad Marketer) with Rapid Formatter and it took me a long time to get it formatted the way I wanted.  However, the second site that I built for a client of mine took less than three hours to set up.

My client is now going through the learning curve of adding content and updating the site but once he gets comfortable he will have the ideal solution for his business.  He will have a blog that looks like a website that is easy to update and can be done so without any programming skills.  Pictures and videos can also be added without any hassles and without relying on a programmer to do it for him.

To summarize, Rapid Formatter is an awesome product.  There is quite a learning curve getting started but get through that and you’ll have a site or many sites that you’ll be extremely proud of and that can be changed as often as you wish.  I highly recommend that you look at this product.
