Rave: Rich Dad Poor Dad

Ok, I know that I’m way behind the times with this one but I just picked up a copy of Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki. I’d seen it on the shelves before but I never bothered reading it because I was told that it was about real estate investing - a topic I know very little about and little interest in learning.

Needless to say my source was wrong. The book is not about real estate investing but rather about how to set up your finances in such a manner as to ensure a decent lifestyle for yourself and your family WITHOUT having to trade hours of your life for dollars in your pocket via a normal job.

I thought it was an excellent read. It was easy to understand but more importantly Robert’s philosophy of life rang so true. How many of us live our lives is ridiculous. If you’re only source of income is your job you have no options… and no options means that you have no power. It is a horrible place from which to live.

I strongly recommend that you pick up a copy of this book if you haven’t done so already. You’ll find it very eye-opening especially if you’re unhappy at your job and you don’t think there are any alternatives. There are always alternatives and Robert makes sure you see them on every page of his book.
